It had taken all of Taleria's focus to make the mad dash down the corridors without looking at passing surfaces, so as to avoid seeing her old self again, staring back at her with empty eyes. She heard the call of the man, before her eyes landed on the prone Vulcan. "What happened?" The Trill asked as she came to a stop next to the vulcan and kneeled down.

The tricorder next to Volok's head beeped continued it's monotonous instruction for Kari Pahlmihr, the Trill deck hand had followed a first aid course at some point and thought it wise to respond to the hail for a medic. She was kneeled next to the Vulcan first mate and het hands and clothes were already clearly covered in his blood, "He got mauled by M'Erah. The Caitian. They have him boxed in. I think he's asleep." Following the instructions from the tricorder she had applied the neural stimulators to prevent permanent brain damage and had started tentatively to try and repair the damage to his arteries. She looked up to the other Trill that had entered the bay, "I'm so glad you're here." her eyes were watery and it was clear she didn't have the steady hands of a surgeon.

Taleria gave the young woman a warm smile as she opened her tricorder and gave the unconscious man. "Effoc!" She cursed softly, "he's barely holding on, even for a vulcan." The blonde trill sighed. "Okay, follow my instructions. We need to stabilize him before we can move him to the med bay."

Kira looked at the medical professional that joined her and was relieved to be able to no longer have to make the decisions, "Yes Doctor." she sat back and looked at the other Trill woman, awaiting instructions.

"Okay," Taleria grabbed the coagulant from the med kit and pressed it to Volok's neck, then fished out the micro-suture, and began repairing his main artery. "Keep an eye on his blood pressure and neural readings, the moment they drop or peak, let me know."

"Yeah. Yes doctor." Kira responded before grabbing the tricorder and switching off the first aid help function before switching over to blood pressure and neural readings, setting the tricorder to let her know if it fell below the specified parameters for a Vulcan male.

Minutes later

Mayterial came rushing through the doors of the cargobay, was a bit taken aback by the reshuffling of the crates, not quite sure what the purpose was there. She moved around them to see Volok on the floor with Kira and Taleria tending to him. "Is he okay? Is he going to live?" She asked, not taking any effort to filter the worry out of her voice.

Lin looked up, "if his condition keeps? Possibly. We've barely managed to stabilize him, but he's still just barely holding on. I'll need to get him to the med bay and get him into surgery before I can make a more detailed prognosis."

May seemed to be at a loss for a moment before focusing. As the adrenaline picked up her physical discomforts started to ebb away," what can I do?"

"Get us to a port. Your med bay is not equipped for major trauma recovery. I don't honestly know if I'll even be able to do anything for him, other than keep him breathing with what you've got." Lin admitted as she stood up to face Mayterial. "I'll do whatever I can, but I'm not making any promises."

"We're heading to a Starfleet facility. Miss Farron mentioned it was used as a firing range. I hope they have adequate medical facilities available." Mayterial stood, as if her feet were nailed to the ground. She had never been one to not know what to do but this was so far outside of her expertise that there was nothing she could do unless the Doctor would give her specific instructions to do so, "So, can we move him to the med bay?"

Taleria nodded, "he should be alright to move, but we may need to actually carry him. Transporting would be too risky, in his condition, we can't be one hundred percent certain matter reconstitution wouldn't burst any of the seals we made."

May nodded, that she could do. Some physical lugging of a person from one place to the next, "Alright." She looked over at the deck hand Trill, Kira was her name. She had found her in the showers, cowering away from shadows, "I'll grab his upper body." She moved to stand over his shoulders and squatted down to get in position to lift him from the ground.

Taleria nodded, "Kira, grab the equipment and keep your eyes on the monitors. Let us know the moment deviations happen. Our carrying him might cause issues." The blonde trill stepped over to the vulcan's legs. "Ready, Captain? On three. Try to keep jerky movements to a minimum."

"On three, roger that." Mayterial slid her hands under Volok's shoulders and was ready to come up with his weight in as smooth a motion as she was able. She looked at the physician to make eye contact and make sure that they would be doing this properly.

Kira grabbed the equipment they had laying around and in two hands kept it so that she could still view the monitors as they kept giving updates on the Vulcan first mate's wellbeing.

Taleria nodded slowly, to acknowledge May as the three women slowly moved, the unconscious body out of the Cargo Bay. "We'll need to check on the Caitian later, make sure he's not too injured."

Mayterial nodded, the weight of the unconscious Vulcan making it impossible to really talk back in this moment. She wondered how this could've happened. How Volok had been in a position where M'erah had the drop on him. Where the Caitian would've wanted to hurt him in the first place. Whatever this stuff was that they were moving for the Starfleet scientist was very potent and had effects on the different species of the crew is many different ways, she knew that the only way to get rid of it was to make an inhibitor specifically for this stuff that was apparently in the air. With the sample they could also adjust the air filters to vent it out into space.

"Do you know if we managed to get a sample, Captain?" Taleria asked as they moved down the hall slowly, the strain of the heavy vulcan evident in the strain of her voice. "I know the pale young man Canaan is also effected, and I'm guessing whatever transpired between Volok and M'Erah is a result of the same."

"I've not heard back from Sam, but if that's ground zero then I think it was a mistake sending her in unprotected." May was able to talk now that the pace had become a bit more regular, "If she hasn't delivered it to the med bay I'll grab a gasmask and make my way down there myself." They made it up to the turbolift, they needed to ascend one deck to get to the medical facilities on board and the maintenance tubes definitely weren't an options. But the turbolift was also going to be very cramped.

Taleria nodded, grunting a little. "Just make sure you keep him as level as possible, which means we may both need to lean him on us in the lift. Either way, we need that sample as soon as possible, or incidents like this may continue to happen." She said as the Turbolift door opened behind Mayterial.

May started to shuffle into the turbolift, squeezing up against the back wall and positioning herself so that there was enough room for the good doctor to get in at least, "I don't think Kira can get in." It was near impossible to keep Volok level and there was absolutely no more room to manoeuvre. "Deck two." The doors closed on her command to take them one deck above. She had never realised how small the lift actually was.

"Kira can catch up." Taleria said, her tone muffled as one of Volok's arms was wrapped around her head. The two women and the unconscious vulcan were a barely recognizable mass, trying to keep the man afloat and not injure him further while at the same time fitting three people in there.

The ride was slow, soo slow. Finally though they managed to get there. "Alright, I'll go out first and we'll slowly even him out, because the blood rush will cause further damage if we do it too fast." Muffled sounds came again from the trill as the door opened and she started untangling and repositioning herself.

"Good thing we didn't put him on a gurney." Mayterial joked a bit, even though moments ago it would've seemed like a more logical thing to do the lift had taken away any doubt that it was a feasible method of transport. She patiently awaited the doctor to step out and even him out. The weight was starting to really get to her and she wouldn't be able to hold on for too long. Luckily the medical bay was close to the lift.

"Yeah. Tell you what though, old style medicine is not something I expected to practice again." Lin chuckled as she lead the way out of the Turbolift, backwards. Eventhough it was but a few meters from the lift, it felt like forever with the weight of the man and his life in their hands.

Glancing behind her, Taleria gave a relieved sigh as they finally reached the MedBay. The door swished open behind her and she lead the way over to the bio bed. "Okay, on three, lift and place."

"One..." Mayterial was about at the end of her strength, "Two..." they lined up next to the bed and prepared to lift in unison, "Three!" She lifted the moment she spoke the word and Volok was placed in the bed with a soft thud. "Shit, that man was heavy." She shook her arms to get the blood flow back into them, "Now what?"

"Now you go get me that sample and I try to keep this one alive." Talieria gave her a semi wild grin.
